Hello PS 60 staff, students, and families!
I am very humbled and honored to introduce myself as a new assistant principal of P.S. 60 – The Woodhaven School. I am excited to join this school community and be a part of the academic and personal growth of the individuals at The Woodhaven School.
My academic and professional career has been rooted in the New York City public school system. I am a 3rd generation school educator, most recently serving as a special education instructor at a middle school in Brooklyn. In my experience, I have learned a great deal about adaptability, listening skills, collaboration, compassion, and respect. These lessons have permeated my personal life as an educator, mother, and an individual.
The formative years of a students’ education creates the path for lifelong learning. My goal is to provide our students with the individualized attention that they need, while maintaining an inclusive environment where students can learn from and grow with each other. We, as a community, envision our students to be people of change who determine what they want for their lives and their futures. We strive to instill academic skills, personal growth, and a spirit of life-long learning through hands-on activities, thoughtful discussions, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary inquiry-based projects. Students will be valued for their individuality and diverse capabilities as they learn to contribute to their society with courage, compassion, and knowledge.
